It's been a little bit of a hectic week topped off with a call from a our painting company that they could get us in... TODAY. We were expecting to have until late June to get our shit together, take out the five billion nails the previous owners left in our walls, and mentally prep for a messy house. If I'm being honest, its been messy from day one so that really wasn't an issue.
So in addition to my mama and work responsibilities, I'll be bossing around painters for the next 3 days. And in honor of the painting, I thought I'd share another peek into our plans for the house!
Everything in our new home is painted builder-grade tan, grey, or the one random bedroom which is navy with an orange stripe (SMH....). We're painting the bedrooms, bathrooms, and dining room on our own but we didn't have the time or energy to tackle everything else so we hired out for the big jobs.
Here are the colors so far. I want everything to be very light and airy, then use accessories to liven it up a little.
The top three colors are more of a warm grey than brownish hue in person, I swear. |
Right now the stairwell drives me crazy because the bottom is grey and the top is tan. It's going to look so much better as one matching color!
Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray :: Half Bath and Guest Bath
Our half bath has the same brownish tile as our kitchen so I'm at the mercy of finding a good griege that will work with it.
Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue :: Office
Benjamin Moore Silver Gray :: Master Bedroom (I think!)
Benjamin Moore Winter Gates :: Dining Room
Eventually we're going to do some DIY wainscoting in the dining room, and since this room gets a lot of light, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone a bit for a darker shade. I'm hoping it looks similar to this.
Benjamin Moore Grey Owl (lightened by 25%) :: Nursery
In our rental the only room we painted was Rowan's nursery, where we used Benjamin Moore's Grey Owl. I liked that color a lot but I thought it was a little gloomy for a nursery so I opted to have it lightened by 25% for the new nursery. Y'all that made such a huge difference!! I'll share photos soon.

I'm still stumped on what colors for Guest Bedroom #2 and our Master Bathroom. I'm so impressed by people that can make these decisions all at once!
And no, this was not sponsored by Benjamin Moore. I just grabbed a bunch of paint color chips from once place and called it a day. #momlife
I love all the colors you picked out. I regret not painting the walls in our house now. I wasn't too interested in it at the time and now it's way too late! I might check out Grey Owl lightened by 25% since that's exactly the color I want in the nursery.

Love how all of the colors are similar so everything will have a nice flow to it! Revere Pewter is the best... I would paint every room that color if my husband would let me, ha! Can't wait to see it all come together!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm excited for 'after' pictures too!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely loving these colors! Everything is going to flow so perfectly and I love how calming all the colors are! That Gray Owl is so gorgeous! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Sequins & Sea Breezes
Wow, those are all gorgeous colors, lady! Everything about it is calming and chic.
ReplyDeleteThis is the prettiest color palette! So pretty and peaceful- exactly how home should feel!
ReplyDeleteLove those paint colors!!! If you are feeling bold in your guest bedroom #2, take a peek at Sherwin Williams' Leisure Blue....It is a little more bold than your other colors BUT it's a guest room and that's allowed! I am sorta obsessed with it right now!
ReplyDeleteLove this paint palette! I do love the light, airy and crisp vibe it gives off! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors! Flow so nicely together :)
ReplyDeleteI used Grey Owl in our nursery too! It isn't too dark in our space since the room gets a lot of natural light. But for some reason, it kind of looks like it has a greenish tint in some lighting. Have you found that? Maybe my eyesight is just weird.
ReplyDeleteYes!! We thought the green tint was because the walls were green before we painted them but I guess not! We only noticed it at night. I don't see any green now that we had it lightened though
DeleteLove, love!! So calming and pretty. Those are some of my favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you chose. They all work so well together. I hope you remembered to take lots of "before" pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe just bought a house and I may be stealing your color pics as I am way too indecisive to decide on my own.
ReplyDeleteooooo I love these all! And I agree with Evelinna, take before pictures. these colors will be so perfect when you decorate!!
