Fall Snaps + Our Halloween

I swear this Fall has been moving at warp speed, I'm having a hard time coming to grips with all of the Christmas talk already!

The past few weeks we've squeezed in a lot of things including a trip to the pumpkin patch, which really didn't go too well with a teething toddler. Counting down the days until those molars are in! Rowan really could have cared less about the pumpkins, was neutral with the hayride, and wanted nothing to do with the petting zoo. But we did learn he loves the jump castle so he perked up a bit after that!

It was fun (and hot!) but far different than last year when he couldn't run away from me as I was snapping photos.

Then just as we were adjusting back to Charleston time post-Hawaii, it was Halloween! I made some treats up for Rowan's buddies at school, which included an apple juice box, Annie's Homegrown Halloween Bunnies, stickers, and a lollipop. Got to love those festive Target Dollar Spot bags!

We didn't do a family Halloween costume but I love how Rowan's Christopher Robin costume came out! Knowing our toddler's unpredictability with clothing, we tried to come up with something that he wouldn't realize was actually a costume and I think we succeeded! I made the shirt from two separate polos and everything else we already had or borrowed.

He enjoyed carrying around his Tigger stuffed animal for approximately 3.5 seconds while trick-or-treating, which mostly consisted of walking as slow as humanly possible to each house, clinging to me, and telling our sweet neighbors "no" when they tried to give him something other than a lollipop. Ha!

It was still so much fun and I'm glad we took him around our little neighborhood, there were tons of kids (we handed out 3 Costco-sized bags!) and I'm hoping it helps him be a little less shy next year. Plus we get to eat all of the non-lollipops so I'm going to call that a win.

I hope you all had a fun Halloween! This weekend you'll find me baking lots of pumpkin things and hoarding all of the pretty Target Christmas purchases in our guest bedroom. I just can't with the decorating yet, but that doesn't mean I can't shop... right?

P.S. Lots of festive things coming to the blog soon plus I'll be doing an event at World Market in Charleston next weekend! I'll share more as it gets closer but I'd love to see some locals!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, friends! It's taken me a few days to get off of Hawaii time and into Halloween mode again, but seeing Rowan get dressed up and trick-or-treat (we practiced at the Farmer's Market this weekend!) has been so much fun this year!

Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween with your littles!

Friday Favorites

Hi, friends! And hellllo Friday!

I admit I have had no idea what day it is this entire week. I was so off that yesterday I snapped about how excited I was it was Friday and then realized it was not actually Friday. Yikes.

Now that I finally have my ducks in a row, I thought it was high time I show my face here and share some of my favorites from the week!

I have never been a huge fan of Halloween but since having Rowan its been fun getting into it a little more each year. Now that he is more aware, he has been loving all of his Halloween books (Little Blue Truck Halloween is the current fave) and I'm having fun adding some decor to his playroom! Target Dollar Spot has been on point with the Halloween goodies!

Also, I'm currently working on his costume! I picked up two polos, one yellow and one white and I have to deconstruct them this weekend. Any guesses on what he's going to be?!

In other non-Halloween related news, I thought this roundup of 9 new Instagram features you may have missed was so helpful!

Loving this Candelles Pumpkin Roll candle so, so much. It's like I'm baking something with pumpkin without doing any work.

And since I obviously have this thing with neutral Fall decor this year, this simple Fall home tour might be my favorite. I love how simple but beautiful the mantel is. And now I miss having a mantel!

We're planning another low key weekend so I can paint the dining room, probably add to my white pumpkin collection (I may actually have a problem), and take Rowan to a fun play date! Side note: I'm beginning to think I will never be done painting in this house.

What are your plans this weekend? Anyone else already have your babe's Halloween costume in the works?

The 10 Best Trader Joe's Pumpkin Foods

Happy first official day of Fall!

We're in full Fall mode over here these days and I couldn't be more happy about it! The cool-ish mornings here in Charleston are such a welcome treat and we've already got a full schedule packed with festive play dates at the pumpkin patch, birthday parties, and finally our trip to Hawaii!

This week I've been trying to finish decorating but somehow all of my pumpkins, or "pums" as Rowan calls them, keep migrating to the playroom...

I also stopped by Trader Joe's and was greeted with their pumpkin food display, after which I promptly threw all of my favorites into my cart in the name of blog research. The last time I shared my go-to Trader Joe's shopping list, a super sweet reader suggested doing a pumpkin version, and I happily accepted the challenge.

You could easily spend a fortune trying all of TJ's pumpkin things, so I thought I'd help narrow it down to some of my favorites for you! I tried to exercise restraint and only came home with four of these items, but I had the others last year and plan on heading back for more after my first batch is gone. Which should be like, tomorrow.

Pumpkin Biscotti - This is my absolute favorite on this list! The flavor isn't too strong and goes perfect with my vanilla coffee every morning!

Pumpkin Bread Mix - Another favorite because its so easy to whip up! I do like making pumpin bread from scratch but with a toddler in tow I don't have much time these days. I love to top it with some mini chocolate ships or pecans.

Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies - I think these may be new.. Anyway, shortbread cookies covered in yogurt and pumpkin spice?! Yes, please! Rowan loves these but I try to hoard them mostly for myself.

Pumpkin Macarons - I'm a sucker for TJ's macarons and these are no exception! The box looks different this year FYI

Mini Pumpkin Pies - I just tried these for the first time and think they are so cute! Not a substitute for homemade but easy if you've got friends to feed. I like them heated up rather than room temp.

Pumpkin Cheesecake - I had this last year it was really good, the pumpkin taste isn't overpowering. Definitely picking this up for our next dinner party!

Harvest Blend Salad - Love these premade salad blends but I have to take it easy on this dressing!

Pumpkin Pancake and Waffle Mix - I've never tried making this as a waffle but I do like the pancakes! I just wish it were one of those mixes that only required me to add water... because I'm lazy like that.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese - Can't get enough. I may actually make myself sick of this because I've been eating it with bagels and apples a little too often this week.

Mini Ginger Pumpkin Ice Cream Mouthfuls - Has a little more spice to it so if you're not a huge ginger fan, maybe skip it.

And for the dogs, Ruby loves the Pumpkin Dog Treats!

Some things I couldn't find but I'm hoping they bring back are the pumpkin waffles (SO good) and pumpkin ravioli.

Anyone have other favorite TJ's pumpkin products?! Have you tried the pumpkin cookie butter? I'm a little weary of that but obviously there is a dessert theme going on with my list... Not sorry!

And no, I'm not getting paid at all by Trader Joe's for this post. I'm just pumpkin-obsessed.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!

This week was one of those crazy ones that sneaked up on me. I was swamped with work and it seems like R might be fighting off yet another daycare-induced cold (just 5 days after going off of antibiotics for his first, mind you) so I'm so ready for the weekend! Bonus points because we turn back the clock, let's hope the baby lets us sleep in?!

We're in last minute prep mode for Halloween over here, I've still got a pumpkin to carve and a giant skunk costume head to rig so it fits my child's head. I hope you've all got some fun plans for this weekend!

I couldn't resist sharing a few favorites from the week, so here goes.

ONE. Fall Beer

Have y'all tried Leinenkugel Harvest Patch Shandy yet?! It only has a hint of pumpkin in my opinion so don't let that sway you if you normally aren't into the pumpkin flavor!

TWO. Christmas decor

Ok you know I've been stocking up on Christmas pajamas for Rowan but this week I fell into the black hole that is Christmas decor and I can't say I'm mad about it. Has anyone else pick up some new holiday decor yet?

THREE. Favorite cozy sweater

PSA this J Crew ribbed boatneck sweater is the absolute best, I have it in navy and might have to order another color. It's currently on super sale, its really soft and I love that it kind of goes off my shoulder a little. Definitely will be on repeat this winter!

FOUR. The Voice.

This is super random because I don't normally watch reality or singing shows, but my husband and I are really into the Voice this season! I'm a big fan of Amy Vachal and loved her Sunday Kind of Love performance this week! Anyone else watching or have a favorite?

FIVE. Little Dancer

This little man started dancing recently and it is so.freaking.cute! He doesn't discriminate with his music selection, he'll even dance to his mamas terrible singing. 8 months is such a fun age!! I'm still working on clapping and giving mama kisses, but if you follow on snapchat you've seen his mad sippy cup skills... Ha!

That's it from me today, I hope you all enjoy your Halloween weekend!! Personally I'm glad Halloween will be over so I can get this candy out of our house. Buying candy two weeks before is never a good idea!

Mama + Mini Cold Weather Style

Okay I admit that 90% of the time the outfit selections for Rowan and I do not coordinate whatsoever. Ain't nobody got time for that.

But Rowan is looking more and more like his Daddy lately so I do what I can to make sure people know he belongs to this curly-haired mama.

And when it comes to family photos or any type of outing where I know we'll be taking a lot of photos I usually make an attempt to coordinate. I start by picking his outfit and then I blend in somewhere in the background with a solid blouse or something I've settled on because I hate everything in my closet. #firstworldprobs

One of my favorite outfits to date? This cute little ensemble Rowan wore for our family photos this past weekend. I cannot even wait to see the photos, he was such a little stud!

Vest. Button Down. Jeans. Moccs.

In case you missed it on Snapchat (follow me at HomeSweetRuby), I wore an emerald green blouse (similar here) with skinny jeans and my favorite booties. My husband sported a navy and white check button down underneath a grey half zip sweater. All the heart eyes for my boys.

Another combo that is easy to coordinate with is buffalo plaid. It's everywhere in the stores this Fall, I'm basically counting down the days until I can put this trapper hat on R.

Button Down (old from J. Crew Factory, similar here and here). Trapper Hat (Similar).

Also love this buffalo plaid scarf for mama!

And finally, my most favorite Fall and Winter color ever. Merlot.
Tunic. Sweater Dress. Jeans. Leggings. Hat.

Loft is killing it in the merlot clothing department, FYI. I'm just waiting for all of these to come in the mail because... online shopping problems. I had way too much fun shopping Zara's baby selection... Lord help me if I ever find myself in the actual store! Also, obsessed with this Slouch Headwear beanie for Rowan!

P.S. Girl mamas- if you're still reading this make sure to check out the new collection from Willow Crowns when it drops on November 3rd! Megan posted a sneak peek and I spy some pretty merlot pieces!!

Anyone else coordinate with your mini? I know its tougher for boy mamas but can be super cute for photo ops!

Rowan's First Pumpkin Patch

Because you haven't seen enough babies in a pumpkin patch this week... I'm here to help you out with that.

We may have taken more photos of Rowan this past weekend than any other in his little lifetime. It started with a visit to Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch with Jillian, her husband, and Violet.

Going through these photos (and the 34089 others that I took) were so entertaining, there are some gems and its hard not to share them all. I'm happy to say Rowan rocked his first pumpkin patch experience with his hilarious (and mostly judgy) facial expressions, killer hair style, hay consumption, and Southern smocked outfit.

Smocked Shortall sold out but from Smocked Auctions. Baby Sperry Top-Siders.

I think we got one or two photos of each baby looking at the camera, but the majority they are either playing with the hay or trying to eat it. And when we tried to get photos of the mamas and babies it was kind of chaotic, I guess we're in for it now that they are more mobile!

He already has the ladies chasing after him...
On Sunday we took some family photos at James Island County Park with the super talented Shannon Michele Photography. The weather was perfect and I'm happy to report there was no sweating in our Fall outfits! I can't wait to share them!

Rowan tolerated the photos for a while but we started losing him as the thrill of chewing on my necklace and grabbing all the spanish moss took over. I still can't get over how cute he looked in his outfit, more on that tomorrow!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favorites

I'm not sure how it's already Friday but I'll take it! I've got a quick roundup for you of my favorites from the past two weeks since I've been a super good blogger and haven't shared one of these posts in a while...
Linking up with April!

One. Gorgeous Jewelry Dish by the Painted Press (+ 20% off!)

Coordinates Dish c/o The Painted Press. Bluzy Druzy Ring by Wrenn Jewelry.
If you follow on Instagram you got a glimpse of this gorgeous Painted Press jewelry dish which has found its new home in our guest bedroom (reveal coming soon!). It honestly reminds me of something you'd find in Anthropologie and I love fact that its handmade! Natalie is super creative and I'm pretty obsessed with her floral paintings, like on this floral monogram dish.

Because she is the sweetest, Natalie offered a 20% discount to Home Sweet Ruby readers!! Just use the code HOMESWEETRUBY. Perfect timing for holiday orders- these would be really sweet, personalized gifts for your mom or sister! For every order placed between now and November, Natalie and her team are putting an item (like socks, toothpaste, etc) into an Operation Christmas Child box. How great is that?!

Head on over to see more here, including some drool-worthy prints, coasters, and coffee mugs!

Two. Festive PJs and books

Carter's Seleton Pajamas. Babylit Frankenstein book. Playmat.
We're feeling pretty festive over here lately, and I think we can officially check a few things off of our Fall To Do list thanks to these cute skeleton pjs and our newest addition to the Halloween book collection. See also, giant baby feet above. I just love them.

Three. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese bread.

I made this bread to take over to Ally's when I visited their sweet little boy this week and I thought it was good. I mean, nothing too special but the cream cheese adds an extra flavor if you're looking for something different! FYI The recipe makes a TON, like a huge loaf of bread plus 20 muffins. I'm trying to be as basic as possible and bake a few more pumpkin things this Fall... anyone have some recs?!

Four. Playroom Organization

Land of Nod Knit Storage Bins. Toy Box. Gallery Wall Clips.

We have a weird sunroom area behind our dining table that hasn't gotten any use since we moved in, so we decided to turn it into a playroom for Rowan until he gets bigger and can use the loft space upstairs. But since its visible from the living area and kitchen I'm trying to be really meticulous about keeping it clutter free. Hoping to pick up some of these soft toy bins, clips to hang his artwork (his daycare did little foot prints for Halloween, so cute!) and a toy box to hide everything! What are some other good things to add?! I need to put some things on Rowan's Christmas list!

Five. Old Navy Cardigans

PSA: I stopped by Old Navy this week and I have to say I love their cardigans this Fall! I picked up this solid handkerchief hem cardigan to throw on with tanks around the house or to wear for errands and had to exercise serious restraint to hold off on buying several others!

Hope you all have a fun Fall weekend!

Disney, Weddinging, and the week of no sleep

Y'all it feels so good to be home!

We had a wonderful long weekend in Florida but there is something about getting home and back into the swing of things that is rejuvenating.

I mentioned last week that Rowan was congested (thank you mamas for all of the recommendations!) but he is still feeling under the weather so we've got a Pediatrician visit, mountains of laundry, and errands on the menu today. Not only is he still sick but we think he is also cutting another tooth and going through separation anxiety as he would not sleep the past week unless we were holding him. So basically what I'm saying is give me allllll of the under eye cream and coffee today.

And despite all of this, Rowan was still his happy self during his Disney visit! We love the Epcot Food and Wine festival so we used it as an excuse to take Rowan to meet Mickey.

I'm pretty sure he recognized the characters since we let him watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while he eats his solids during breakfast and it was so funny seeing his reaction. It went from excited (babbling and smiling), to unsure as the characters got closer to him, and then to trying to grab and eat their noses. ha!

Rowan passed out for most of the trip "around the world," which was great because I got to stuff my face with spanikopita at the Greece tent, some delicious chicken dish I couldn't pronounce and sangria in Mexico, brats in Germany and pierogies at the Poland tent. Oh and a pumpkin spice funnel cake in the America section. So.freaking.good.

Nothing like taking family photos after you sweat in the Florida heat for a few hours. But seriously, this kid is such a ham I love him so much!

We also headed to the most beautiful wedding in Boca Grande on Saturday. The food was probably the best I've ever had at a wedding and the venue was straight out of old Florida. Think Rayburn House from Bloodline with a golf course view instead of the ocean mixed with Lilly Pulitzer. There were a lot of ridiculous dance moves that night.

We have so many fun things coming up... a trip to the pumpkin patch with Rowan's girlfriend Violet, visiting Ally's sweet baby boy, family photos, and more. Loving this Fall so far!

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!

Fall To-Do List

With the official start of Fall just a week away and the cooler temps we've been having (insert praise hands emoji) its safe to say summer is long gone in my mind.

You'll notice a few of these are not that special but I'm setting my bar low because, mom life.

1. Fall Manicure. Okay so the only reason this has anything to do with Fall is because I want to go with my trademark Fall polish, Essie Smoking Hot. I haven't had a mani-pedi since.... before Rowan was born? YIKES. It's time.

2. Drink all the Lattes, Pinot Noir and Pumpkin beers. Last year I was knocked up at this time so I couldn't enjoy these basic luxuries. I pretty much accomplished this one already so we'll just go ahead and mark this as "in progress." Something has to get me through a full day of work and deciding which tool Mickey's Clubhouse gang needs for its mission.

3. Bake Pumpkin-flavored things. I may even try my hand at slow cooker apple butter. Look out y'all, getting crazy over here.

4. Visit the Farmer's Market. We go to the Farmer's Market a lot but there is something about chowing down on my kettle corn with a scarf on and a cool breeze that makes it so much better.

5. Take cliche pictures of my kid. Think photos at a pumpkin patch, sitting in a pile of leaves, in his Halloween PJs and costume. Yep, I'm going full-on crazy Fall mom here and I don't care who knows it.

6. Wear something other than leggings.I got totally annoyed with wearing leggings last year while I was pregnant. Here's to skinny jeans this time around!

7. Hocus Pocus. Classic Bette Midler, no explanation needed. It's the best.

8. Read Halloween books to Rowan. So far we have Llama Llama Trick or Treat and Room on the Broom (which is SO cute, I love reading it to Rowan) but we'll probably add more to the collection, like this one.

9. Carve Pumpkins. Love doing this the week of Halloween!

10. Take lots of family walks. We haven't been able to do this much with the humidity over the summer, but Ruby loves when we all walk together and Rowan just chills in his stroller taking it all in.

Honorable mentions go to making lots of soups and chilis for dinner, apple picking, beating my husband at Fantasy Football, and stop being sad that I have no mantel to decorate this year (yeah right).

What is on the top of your Fall bucket list? Anything I should add?!

Linking up with Natalie and Annie!

Friday Favorites

Happy September, friends! I know we're already 4 days in but I was a bad blogger this week, so I'm playing catch up. This weekend we're planning to finally hang things on the walls in the house, finish our Restoration Hardware-inspired coffee table, and this mama gets to have her hair done and do some Fall clothes shopping!

Onto my favorites from the week, linking up with Christina and April!

Fall. I admit I'm not going full-fledged Fall crazy just yet. (Anyone else with me?) But I'm going to pull out my favorite pumpkin candle this weekend and stop by Hobby Lobby for some inspiration. Hopefully that will motivate me to decorate this weekend considering I never actually put any non-seasonal decor around the house since moving in. Oops.

College Football. Rowan's first football season! He is oblivious but we're so excited to put on our coordinating Gator gear this weekend. I've been singing our alma mater to R in place of lullabies since I'm a super mom and only know two lines of Mary had a Little Lamb, but I'm confident we're starting him out on the right track.

Halloween. Rowan's costume is picked out, cute jams have been purchased, and I might have to get him one of these Halloween treat bags, so so cute! I've never been a big fan of Halloween (though I do love me some Hocus Pocus) but with a baby its a whole different story!

Apple Cider Donuts. I made these last year and can't stop craving them since I came across this post this week!

Random but have you seen the new changes to Instagram or am I just late to the party? You can now share landscape photos and combine multiple photos in one post without needing another app. Direct messaging has also been improved!

Also I'd love for y'all to check out the newly minted Home Sweet Ruby Facebook page! I kept putting it off but alas, I succumbed just like I did to Twitter. Looking forward to making it a little prettier and filling it up with some good Fall things in the next few weeks!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Cheers to the three-day weekend with this fall sangria in my hand!

Hosting an Easy (& Fun) Thanksgiving + Link Up!

With just over a week until Thanksgiving I'm getting so excited to see all of our family in one place at one time! I love Christmas, but Thanksgiving has always been my favorite. You've got an excuse to eat like a pig, slip into a wine-induced coma, and put your feet up (after helping with dishes of course!). Either way, I'm just counting down the days until we get a house big enough to fill with all of our friends and family.

Holiday Linkup

Even though we haven't actually had Thanksgiving at our house, over the years I've helped my Mom host and filled my Mother-in-Law's shoes when she couldn't fly home in time to make Thanksgiving dinner (yes, I made every dish including the turkey that year!). So I think I've got a good game plan. If you're hosting for the first time or planning a Friendsgiving, here are some beginner tips for a fun and festive dinner, sans the stress!

background image {via}
ONE. Delegate
Don't be afraid to ask for help, assign some dishes to guests, or ask your sweet husband
to run out and grab that one ingredient you forgot. It's hard to delegate but totally necessary on a day like Thanksgiving!

TWO. Menu: Plan

{via}
This is pretty obvious but when you have a lot of people coming, you need to have enough food! I love this little chart for help. And personally I'm all about the side dishes and having lots of options, which is where #1 comes back into play. Don't forget the rolls... the more carbs, the better!

THREE. Menu: Turkey Do's + Don'ts

Do remember to thaw the turkey well in advance. Do baste the turkey often while cooking. Don't rely on the pop-up turkey timer. They don't always work correctly which can cause you to overcook your turkey. Get a good meat thermometer like this one.

FOUR. Menu: Pick Easy Recipes

Clearly my food photography skills were lacking, but this cornbread casserole is one of my most-pinned recipes!

Now is not the time to try that recipe with 30 different ingredients and even more steps that you found on Pinterest, I don't care how delicious it looks. One of my favorite recipes is my Cornbread Casserole. It's one of those "throw everything into a bowl, mix, then bake" kind of things, plus its absolutely delicious. I promise you will run of out this before the doggy bags even come out!

FIVE. Menu: Have a Selection

Yes that even includes white and red wines! You can't forget the pumpkin and apple pies but don't worry if you can't bake, scope out a good bakery beforehand to help you out.

SIX. Menu: Arrange a Bar Cart

{via}
Don't bother trying to get everyone's drinks for them. Set up a bar cart and let them work off those carbs they are about to eat. If you've got time, have some of this Apple Cinnamon Sangria at the ready!

SEVEN. Set the Table in Advance

{via}
Get your table ready the night before so you're not stressing as food is coming out of the oven. Not sure about centerpieces? When in doubt, light candles.

EIGHT. Be Classy, but Practical
We'd all love to have matching place settings with perfect chargers, napkins, and centerpieces, but sometimes that's a lot more effort and who really wants to help with dishes anyway?

Places like Party City and Sam's Club have "premium" plastic plates (hello pretty gold-rimmed version here) and you would never know looking at them that they are disposable! I'm not saying its for everyone, but if you'd rather curl up in your sweats with wine and play poker after dinner, this might be the way to go!

NINE. Have Doggy Bags at the Ready

Free Printable here
You probably won't have room for all the leftovers, nor will you want them after a couple of days eating the same 5 things. Have some to-go containers available (like these) and wrap with some bakers twine. Easy and adorable!

TEN. Enjoy it.
I know this seems obvious, but make sure you take some time to savor that red wine (if not for you, then me!) and be thankful for those you have in your life.

Is anyone hosting Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving?! What's on your menu?

Cream Cheese Pumpkin Bread

Happy November! I hope you all had a fun and festive weekend!

We spent our Halloween passing out candy to tons of tiny, adorable trick-or-treaters, including one little girl dressed as Elsa who said to me, "You know I don't like Skittles, right?" It was quite entertaining, even sans my usual pumpkin beer.

We ran out of candy so we were forced to dip into our own stash... you know, the pile of your favorites that you keep for yourself? Not going to lie, I ran out the next day and got more on sale... #notsorry

Speaking of food, I made this bread a few weeks ago when we had family visiting and it was such a hit that I wanted to share it with y'all today! I haven't done a whole lot of baking or cooking since the beginning of my pregnancy, since I was pretty turned off by most foods, so I'm glad to finally get back into it.

This recipe easily made a huge loaf of bread and about 20 muffins. I probably could have made 3 huge loaves, which means it's perfect if you're making something for a holiday bake sale or mini loaves to pass out to neighbors!

Cream Cheese Pumpkin Bread
Recipe adapted from Your Cup of Cake

Pumpkin Bread Ingredients
1 can of pumpkin puree
4 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup applesauce
2/3 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cup sugar
3 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp.pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Cream Cheese Filling Ingredients
16 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, room temperature
1 tbsp. milk

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a loaf pan or set up liners in your cupcake tin.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil, applesauce, milk, vanilla extract and sugar. (I used my stand mixer for this step because it was easy, but not necessary if you don't have one!)

In another bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice together.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix just until combined. Then stir in your chocolate chips.

To make the cream cheese filling, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg and milk together until smooth. Top with some leftover mini chocolate chips.

For Bread: Pour a little bit of batter into the loaf pan (not as much as I did) and spoon the cream cheese mixture on top. I found it easier to do this just once, top with more of the batter, and use a butter knife to swirl the cream cheese around. Bake for 60-80 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.

For muffins: Fill each muffin tin 1/3 full, add some cream cheese filling, and then top with another spoonful of pumpkin batter. Swirl with toothpick or knife then top with mini chocolate chips. Bake for 14-18 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.
__

It's so easy and comes out really moist and delicious! You don't even need butter or anything on this bread when you eat it. Definitely adding this to my list of favorite pumpkin recipes!

What are some of your go-to pumpkin recipes this Fall?! I'm always up for trying new ones!
